Supporting Seniors

Seniors represent over 32% of Ward 5. Ensuring there are resources and services in place to support them is crucial. I’ve voted for robust policies, invested in seniors’ facilities, and supported new opportunities to keep seniors active and connected to our community. 


  

✔ Voted for the Toronto Seniors Strategy 2.0 which includes 27 high-impact actions for housing, health, employment, transportation, and access to services that are improving the quality of life for seniors.


✔ Voted to fund the Seniors’ Digital Literacy Pilot Program.


✔ Supported the creation of the Toronto Seniors Housing Corporation to establish a seniors-focused social housing provider in Toronto.


✔ Supported the construction of a new supportive housing site on Weston Road-the Learning Enrichment Foundation.


✔ Supported the City’s Open Door Affordable Rental Housing Program for Seniors at 2346 Weston Road.


✔ Supported the St Fidelis Golden Age Club Program.


✔ Supported the York West Active Living Centres.
